As some of you might know last month I moved over Qbrushes.com/Qvectors.com to a new VPS sever which works great but obviously not strong enough to host both wordpress sites with all the images and downloads. This month 570GB’s of vectors/brushes were downloaded, this spike was a result of being featured on psdtuts.com , dezignus.com and others (thank you all).

Lately some blogs have been making use of  similar posts wordpress plugin with thumbnail images, instead of the simple text. I thought adding this would enhance the usability of Qbrushes and QVectors.

This feature currently on Qbrushes and QVectors uses similar posts plug-in by Rob Marsh which basically pulls similarities between posts by words,tags and categories. With some minor output adjustment you can replace the default text output into thumbnails from custom fields, If you’re intending to use this on your own blog then you need to have the output template.

Another month gone by with great submission of photoshop brushes and vector graphics. This month a total of 420GB+ was downloaded! almost double the amount in june.

Because of the many hours of downtime  this month I decided to relocate Qvectors to a more powerful VPS so hopefully no more downtime and no more annoying  500 internal errors, as for Qbrushes and this blog ill move them over to the new VPS when some issues are sorted out.

As some of you might have noticed already the site was down for 7 or so hours yesterday and i apologise for any inconvenience.

I’m currently actively looking for a new hosting sever for Qbrushes and Qvectors because our current hosting support and uptime is just unacceptable.

To add to the hosting problems traffic has been increasing steadily this month which is another reason to relocate the site.

hopefully everything should be sorted out soon.

Over the past week Qbrushes and QVectors has had some adjustments as some of you might have  noticed.

One major change is the featured brushes and vector slide show which is done by using an awesome free wordpress plugin  called “Featured Content Gallery” by wpelements.com, I’m loving the plugin and i intend to feature 5 brushes and 5 vectors on a weekly rotation.

Other changes on the site include the star rating icons which were created by icojoy.com. here is a direct link to the icon set. enjoy
